Hi Innes

Lo and behold, you're probably the first English user here in this German forum, welcome! As a result a fresh wind is blowing here (shouldn't mean that it was boring before)... !
As Tina wrote, it would be great to get some more information about your tank and your stock! Is there an eel on your pic?

Salute, Carrero

wow you speak English

The large cichlid is a green severum, the spiney eel is a tyre-track eel, yes there is a piranha (P nattereri) and in the same pic you might notice some neon tetras.

I have loads of fish really though, I have plattys, corydoras, tetras, B splendins, and so on.......

what fishes have you all gotten?

Oh and thanks for speaking English, I really suck at Greman.

Hi Innes,

this eel looks interesting but i think he needs a large tank? Or how long is this eel? Do you have them all in one tank or do you have more? I only have one tank with 180 litres (no space for an eel  ). I have - not sure if this english name is right- Sumatra-barbels (Puntius tetrazona), two Ancistrus dolichopterus and one Bunocephalus . And some platys, too.

I´m interested in aquaristic for just one year now, so quite fresh and definetely no expert, but it´s a great hobby!

Ciao tina

Hi Innes,

I have Platies, Paracheirodon axelrodi and some Whiptailed-Catfish relaxing in my tank

You can take a look at it when you click on the link in my signature

I wonder why the piranha doesn`t eat the tetras, they would be a nice size ...

Bye
Elisa

Puntius tetrazona = Tiger Barbs
Ancistrus dolichopterus = bristlenosed catfish
Bunocephalus = banjo catfish

Paracheirodon axelrodi = Cardinal Tetra

I have owned all of these fish in the past, I currently have some of the tiger barbs with my eel in that pic, this species of eel can get 70cm, but mine is only 10". I also have a fire eel which is 12" and a peacock eel which is 4-5"

I have been keeping fish since I was 4 or even before, I am now 21, and so as you can imagine I have kept a few species and learnt a fair amount about them....... if you have any questions

Oh and my piranhas dont eat my tetras because I feed them other foods and they are just not like that, the species of piranha is Pygocentrus nattereri which is the most tolerant of all the piranha species and so most likely to co-habit with other fishes, although it is not always easy, and from time to time I do notice I have less fish
