The Distichodus will not get a tankmate of it's own species (that is what you ment, right?)
A new Distichodus would be distroyed...

What did you mean by S eupterus?
I don't have S eupterus in my tank ;-)
I 've kept the S decorus together with S alberti (seen in one of the pictures) and S flavitaeniatus
This worked fine, really

More wood has been added recently ;-)
I did have a female for the Polypterus, but she killed herself :'(

oops - I´ve thought, the alberti is an eupterus... *g* I´m sorry!
Hmm... Three Synodontis... I´m thinking about, to buy a second decorus. But my angelicus is so hot-tempered, I think it won´t work.
But then there´s space for one or two more Polypterus! (maybe! )

Are the Distichodus such aggressive when they have space on their own for longer or don´t they accept tankmates of the same species in general?
I didn´t know that... Such beautyful fishes.

Do you have pics from the new "Setup" with the wood? I always am looking for pictures of other african-like tankes.

If you have a hot tempered S angelicus, you might want to reconsider getting a new Synodontis indeed..

Yes, sadly enough..
There are Distichodus species (D decemmaculatus, D teugelsi, D affinis) that can be kept in groups

I'll try to make some full tank shots as soon as possible.
I am not a very good photographer.....
